Blockhead Session IPA
The Blockhead IPA is a Dry Hopped SessionIPA with Mosiac and Falconers hops. It will be a medium bitterness with a slight citrus flavor.

The Life Vest IPA is a Dry Hopped Session IPA with Mosiac hops. It will be a medium bitterness with a slight citrus flavor.

The Tuber IPA is a Dry Hopped IPA with Mosiac and Falconers hops. You will get more bitternes on the front palate and a slight pine finish. This a very refreshing and easy drinking beer.

The Zielgelhaus Lager is a well balanced Germany style lager brewed with Caramalts that give it a light toasted toffee flavor and a slight red hue.
ABV: 5.5% IBU: 20
The Alexander is an easy-drinking porter with a very low level of bitterness. It is named after Brig. Gen. Porter Alexander who led forces in Virginia. Although it is dark in color, the roasted malts add to its dry, drinkable nature.
ABV: 5.7% IBU: 12.
JRB 3.0 IPA
The JRB 3.0 is a full-bodied and malt-balanced East Coast IPA brewed with Centennial, Cascade and Falconers Flight hops. It pays homage (with tongue firmly in cheek) to the present James River Brewery as the third ownership team at the same Scottsville warehouse in recent years. Third time’s the charm! This IPA has been selected to be on tap at Busch Gardens this year to highlight the Virginia craft beer scene.
ABV: 6.4% IBU: 50.
Fluvanna Fluss Hefeweizen
The Fluss is a traditional, unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat beer (weissbier) brewed with Pilsen and Munich malts, white wheat, and Tettnang hops. Try it with a slice of orange or lemon. Winner of the 2015 Gold Medal at the Virginia Craft Beer Cup. ABV: 5.0% IBU: 9.
Green Eyed Lady Belgian Strong Ale
Complex with floral, spicy and fruity notes, the Green Eyed Lady was one of the first Scottsville brewery’s flagship ales. While we have altered the recipe and brewed it in the Belgian Golden Strong Ale style, we have maintained the addition of pistachio nuts to the brew. Winner of the Bronze Medal (Belgian Strong Ale) at the 2015 Virginia Beer Cup.

James Blonde 007
The James Blonde is a balanced, light-bodied ale that is very easy to drink. It is an ideal entry to the world of craft beer, or for the drinker who is not a fan of malty or hoppy beers.
ABV: 4.4% IBU: 12.
Hatton Ferry Pale Ale
The Hatton Ferry is an American-style pale ale brewed with Columbus and Mosiac hops. It is especially refreshing after a day outdoors or on the River. Winner of the 2015 Virginia Brewery Challenge.
ABV: 5.6% IBU 30.
Sherman Session Stout
The Sherman is an English-style sweet stout with a very low level of bitterness. Although dark in color, the roasted malts add to its dry, drinkable nature. ABV: 5.3% IBU: 12.
James River Brewery offers a variety of beers at all times of the year. Several of these are available all year; others are seasonal and offered at different times of the year. The following is a list of all of our flagship and seasonal beers; not all are available on tap at any one time.
James River Brewery, although founded in 2015, follows the spirit of the "Reinheitsgebot" (German Beer Purity Laws from 1516) in that nearly all of our beers contain only malted grains, water, yeast and hops. Very few of our brands include adjuncts or other additives like coffee, chocolate or other flavorings.
River Runner ESB
The River Runner is our take on a traditional English Bitter. It is brewed with pale and crystal malts as well as British hops ( Fuggles). The Runner has a medium copper color and a gentle bitterness.
ABV: 5.6% IBU:15.
Hop Times IPA
This beer is a hop-forward but balanced west coast style IPA using CTZ, Mosaic and Falconer’s Flight hops. One-off, limited release available only @ JRB. Strong citrus and pine flavor/aroma; Bitterness: Med-High; Dry, easy drinking
ABV: 7.8% IBU: 55
Antwerp Ferry Belgian Strong Pale Ale
The Antwerp Ferry is a Belgian Pale Strong Ale that marries the grain recipe of our Hatton Ferry American pale ale along with the Belgian yeast from our medal-winning Green Eyed Lady golden strong ale. ABV 8.7% IBU: 25.
Reinheit 500 Dunkelweizen
The Reinheit is similar to a hefeweizen with complex malts and a low balancing bitterness. The usual clove and banana characters will be present; some may even taste like banana bread. It was brewed to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the German Beer Laws (the 'reinheitsgebot').
ABV: 5.0% IBU:9.
James Bean Vanilla Oatmeal Porter
The James Bean uses the base malt recipe of the Sherman Stout but adds oatmeal to the brewing stage and vanilla to the fermentation stage. This porter is medium brown in color but full in taste. It's a great beer to fight the winter chill.
ABV 6.9% IBU: 10.
The Celestial is a fresh-hopped Belgian farmhouse ale with 20 pounds of fresh Chinook hops in a 3 barrel brew. We use fresh hops from Celestial Farm, an Albemarle County hop farm.
ABV: 6.8% IBU: 28
Schuyler Skunk IPA
The Schuyler Skunk builds upon our regular IPA and adds fresh Cascade hops from Celestial Farm in Schuyler. The Skunk is a full-bodied, East Coast IPA brewed with Centennial, Galaxy and Citra hops (in addition to the fresh Cascade).
ABV: 6.4% IBU: 65
The James Mild was created as JRB’s contribution to American Mild Month (a nationwide effort of US breweries to create an ale that is similar to UK’s Mild). This is a sessionable beer with an underlying malt body with a slight taste of hops. It’s a great beer to have when you’re having more than one.
ABV: 3.9% IBU: 10
Belgian Holiday Ale
The Belgian Holiday is an amber ale with fresh ginger, cinnamon, and coriander added to the brewing process. We've also added a Belgian yeast to add spicy notes and provide a more festive taste. It should warm even a Grinch's heart.
ABV 6.8% IBU: 20.
English K.I.S.S. Pale Ale
The English "Kiss" Pale Ale is known for its balance and the interplay between malt and hop bitterness. English pale ales display earthy, herbal English-variety hop character. Medium to high hop bitterness. malt and defining sweetness of this richly flavored, full-bodied bitter is medium to medium-high.
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 28
The Doppelganger is our award-winning hefeweizen recipe with rye added to the grain bill. This adds some 'spiciness' notes to the brew for the cooler weather.
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 10
